Jenny has been a surgical nurse for the last twenty-five years and has always been active in biking, running and weight lifting. She became interested in yoga six years ago and starting taking classes at her health club. She noticed how every instructor taught different techniques and was interested in learning the entire background of the yoga philosophy.
She decided to take her RYT teacher training (200 hour) at Yoga One and was taught by Meg Galarza. She never thought she would use her training to teach.
So after finishing her training she was encouraged to try teaching and after her first class fell in love with it.
Even though she felt she was not the best at flexibility and arm balances she continued to grow in her own practice by taking workshops such as Moksha cancer training and attending other classes/workshops on a regular basis. She has learned how much yoga has helped her to deal with her daily stresses and all of her other physical activities.
She feels blessed to be part of The Barefoot Haven Studio and has come to enjoy the sense of community and friendships that she has developed through her classes. She has enjoyed sharing her yoga with her students and she feels she has learned just as much from them as they have from her.
"Yoga takes you into the present moment. The only place where life exists."
